k is multiplied by mt, so you should undo it my dividing mt on both sides. kmt/mt would cancel out leaving k. The equation should be:

k=C/mt

Put mt into parenthesis, and m is lbs and t is time (min). They are multiplied by each other, so this should be seen inside the parenthesis. The equation should be:

k= Cal/(lb x min)

The unit of C is calories, m is for pounds, t is minutes. We supply these units in the equation.
calories = k (pounds)(minutes)
The unit of k should be equal to calories/(pounds x minutes). That is,
unit of k is cal/lb.min
