No contractions, formal grammar and vocabulary, phrasal verbs aren't good either, use + the passive voice, don't use first or second person, edit everything in the end; review, make sure you are correct in both spelling and grammar because if not then that kind of throws the writing off, i recommend reading out loud because it helps to find mistakes more, avoid anything personal about your life or personal references in the paper, no slang, make sure you stick to a topic, don't go all over the place
