2p + 4k = 10
multiply 1st equation by (2)
6p + 4k = 26
2p + 4k = 10
----------------subtract
4p = 16
p = 4
3p + 2k = 13
3(4) + 2k = 13
2k = 13 - 12
2k = 1
k = 1/2
k = 0.5
answer:
price of one kumquat in dollars = $.50 or 50 cents
