DNA is the primary cell structure that when damaged, starts the process of cancer formation

All cancer formation starts with changes within the genes (DNA) of one cell or groups of cells in the body. Genes are composed of long strings of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) that carries genetic instructions used by cells for growth and reproduction. During cell replication, mutation (alteration or change in the DNA) may occur. This will make the cell not to understand the genetic instructions of the DNA and begin to grow out of control. This damage to the DNA (genes) can make normal cells to keep dividing and turn into a cancer cell.
