However, while tragedy uses the protagonists misfortunes to teach the audience about life, comedy uses ridiculous exaggerations to make a point. Unlike with tragedy, where the extraneous was not allowed, comedy always uses exaggeration. Also, whereas tragedy was the events and stories of nobles, comedy was typically put on by the average person.
