The reproduction process in different in Monotremes as compared to other types of mammals. The Monotremes reproduce by laying eggs while the other type of mammals reproduces by keeping their offspring in the womb of female body. Some common examples of Monotremes are echidnas and the platypus and those of other types of mammal are placental mammals and marsupials
