Why is the term "cell theory" appropriate? why is the cell theory a theory

The cell theory states that all biological organisms are composed of cells; cells are the unit of life and all life come from preexisting life. The cell theory is so established today that it forms one of the unifying principles of biology.

Cell Theory is an appropriate term because it yet to be confirmed as well as a way to confirm it. However, it is believed to be true do the the amount of things that back up this theory. It also supports multiple other theories that stem from Cell Theory.
