How is poetry different from prose?

Although there is no clear division of these two types of writing, there are some differences between the two. A prose usually gets strait to the point and dose not have fancy words to enhance or decorate it. The biggest difference though is that most everyday writings are written in prose form and poetry is usually reserved for expressing something special in an artistic way.
