G. Gordon Liddy was a former Federal Bureau Investigation agent turned Republican politician while Howard Hunt was a veteran CIA operative who was involved in the agency's successful plot to overthrow Guatemalan President Jacobo Arbenz. Both were the members of the White House plumbers team.
