Proteins are macromolecules that are mainly responsible for giving structure and catalyzing reactions in the form of enzymes. Macromolecules are very large proteins that perform these functions within the cells of several organisms. In exercise, this is actually used up last after all the carbohydrates and fats have been metabolized. In starvation mode, this is also the last resort of the body in order for it to survive.
