When you want people to pay attention to you you have to give them something to hate. Hitler blamed the Jews for the bad economy etc because Germany was in a bad place economy wise. When he started blaming someone else it was easier to get people to jump on the bandwagon. When he started taking their jobs and shops there was room for others to fill in their spots and because many people of other ethnicities needed jobs they joined the Nazi party.
