Eli Whitney was an American inventor who craeted the 'cotton gin' and pushed the "interchangeable parts" mode of production. He was born on december 8th, 1765, in Westboro, Massechusetts, Eli Whitmey studied at Yale before going on to invent to the 'cotton gin'. ( a device that highly streamlined the process of extracting fiber from cotton seeds. He later went onto pioneer "interchangeable parts" systems of production.
