How are the Core-Optional and adaptive sleep theories the same?

The Core-Optional is a theory which has two parts, one is optional and other one is core sleep. Core sleep is needed to restore and repair brain while the optional is non-essential.

Adaptive Sleep theory is the evolution. It believes that a person or animal need to sleep to recover energy and keep oneself away from predators.
