8x (-4y)= -4 Times 8 by -4y
-32y= -4 Times the entire thing by -1
32y=4 Divide everything by 32
32/32y=4/32 Simplify
y= 1/8

To make it simple divide -4 from both sides leavings you with 8*y=1. From here divide 8 from both sides to get y=1/8
