The nuclear lamina is basically a fibrillar network of proteins that is present close to the inner membrane of nucleus.

It is mainly composed of intermediate filament lamins and proteins that are associated with lamins.

Nuclear lamina provides mechanical support to the nucleus and thus maintains the shape of nucleus.

Apart from this, it also regulates the process of DNA replication and division of cell.
