Both catabolic and anabolic are metabolic processes.

Metabolism is the set of reactions that occur in the living organisms.

Catabolic reactions buid large molecules that the body needs and absorb energy in this process. In essence they use energy to produce molecules.

Anabolic reactions break down large molecules into smaller molecules and release energy. So these are the processes through which your body gets the energy to perfom all the activities.
