Cells with one set of homologous chromosomes are known as haploid cells. Haploid cells are cells which have half the set of the usual number of chromosomes, normal eukaryote organisms are composed of diploid cells, one set of chromosomes coming from each parent; after meiosis, this number of gametes in these cells is halved. Hope this helps.
