The Endocrine system is responsible for releasing hormones into the body. The hormones are important for maintaining and regulating growth, metabolism, and sexual development. Since metabolism is responsible for creating the heat of the body one could say that the endocrine system does manage homeostasis but i'm not sure if you could call it the primary function.
