It was indeed from 84.000 all the way to 454.000 but one f the reasons for that is the immigration. This increase happened during the british mandate and the population increased in an exceptional manner. It is interesting to note that by the 1930s the standard of living of Palestinian Arabs was approximately twice that of Arabs in surrounding countries.
