One of the main problems with schizophrenia is the disordered thoughts that result from abnormal interactions between the cortex and the thalamus and cerebellum.
These disordered thoughts may manifest as hallucinations, as well as delusions and other symptoms common for a schizophrenic. A person suffering from this mental disorder has difficulties distinguishing between what is real and what is only in their head.
