So, when we think about the 19th century, slavery comes to mind, no? So, conditions had to be harsh, and work hours were most likely long for a lot of people. But, it depended on how hard the type of work was. And, there would be hazardous conditions........ This is my take on it..

Remember we are in the 20th century, so, think 1900s

The  factories were smelly and dirty. There were long hours and children were working. There wasnt a lot of pay at all. The people would die from starvation and the machines as the factories were very dangerous to work in.
