How did Hoover's and Roosevelt's approaches to handling the great depression differ?

Roosevelt spent more money in order to put money back into the government's system to help boost the economy, while Hoover held onto the money which caused no one in the government to spend money. Hoover's approached worsened the depression due to the lack of money in the system.
