x = \frac{-b +- \sqrt{b^(2) -4ac} }{2a}


x = \frac{-5 +- \sqrt{5^(2) - 4(2)(4)}} {2(2)}


x = (-5 +- √(25 - 32) )/(4)


x = (-5+-√(-7))/(4)

Since the number inside the square root is negative, the answer will be no solutions.
