What is a slope?and how do you find it on coordinate plain

on the coordinate plane, the steepness, also known as the slant, of a line is called the slope. Slope is the ratio of the change in the y-value over the change in the x-value. Carpenters and builders call this ratio the "rise over the run." You can use any two points on a line, to cancalculate its slope using this formula.

A slope is....
a surface of which one end or side is at a higher level than another; a rising or falling surface.
