A home-improvement store sold wind chimes for $30 each. A customer signed up for a free membership card and received a 5% discount off the price. Sales tax of 5% was applied after discount. what was the final price of the wind chime?

this is not part of the problem but im sorry if this is to easy but i need some help with it because my english is not that good so i don't get it....

From what I understand if the discount would be 5% and then there is sales tax you would be charge that 5% so there for you would not get a deal off the item you are buying it would stay the same price. So the final price is $30.00.

30 x 0.05 = 1.5

30 - 1.5 = 28.5

28.5 + 1.5 = 30

$30 is the final answer
