the term glasnost stand s for openness in Russian and when Mikhail Gorbachev decided to turn to democracy in the soviet union it lead to a full systematic collapse of the soviet union because the soviet union wasn't used to the idea of democracy and it lead to mass confusion of the entire union thus leading to the collapse
