Of what value are forests besides for wood? Is there a value to forests that is not a monetary value? How much is that value considered when forests are being used for their resources?

Forests are both of monetary and non-monetary value for humans. This abundant source of natural materials are of good use to many industries that have been made by humans. Without forests, biodiversity of organisms and the existence of natural resources humans use on a daily basis are directly affected.
