x^2+6x=7
x^2+6x+c=7+c **c=(b/2)^2 c=(6/2)^2
x^2+6x+9=7+9
x^2+6x+9=16
(x+3)(x+3)=16
(x+3)^2=16 Take square root of both sides
x+3=+ or -4 x+3=4 x=1 x+3= -4 x= -7 x= 1, -7
