The sum of a triangle's angles is always 180°. We have one angle of 98 and another which is the supplement to 134 which is 180-134=46. Then:

180-98-46=y

y=36°

Given one angle, 98, you must find the other angle inside of L. To do this, subtract 134 from 180, since it's a straight line. You're left with 46. Add 98 and 46 to get 142. Subtract 142 from 180 once again to find the missing angle, which would be 38.
