Low impact exercising can be a better activity type of an overweight individuals. Lower impact exercise are much easier for those who are first starting out in their exercising journey and those who are carrying more weight on them. These exercises provide the adequate target heart rate but cause less trauma to the already stressed out joints, like the knees and ankles.

Once they lose some weight, it'll be better for the to increase their intensity.
