1. the quality of being made up of exactly similar parts facing each other or around an axis.

2. For something to be an odd function, it has to have symmetry to the origin, not the x-axis. This means that if it has a point like (a, b), it also has the point (-a, -b). For example, y = x is an odd function because it does this.
