Two movie tickets and 3 snacks are $25. Three movie tickets and 4 snacks are $35. How much is a movie ticket and what is the average price of a snack. Solve this equation by elimination

let the tickets be x and the snacks be y.

2x + 3y = 25 .... equation(1) *3 => 6x+9y = 75... (3)

3x + 4y = 35 ....(2) *2 => 6x + 8y= 70....(4)

on (3) - (4)

we get,
6x + 9y = 75
6x + 8y = 70

on putting value of y in (1),
2x + 3*5 = 25

=>2x= 25-15 => 2x = 10 =>x= 10/2 => x= 5

hence , a movie ticket is $5 as well as a snack is $5
