What you have in actuality is a right triangle with a height of 9 and a base of 4.5. Using the Pythagorean Theorem to find x gives you: x^2 = 9^2 + 4.5^2, or x^2 = 81 + 20.25, and x^2 = 101.25 and x = 10.06
