The scrotum is the sac that regulates the temperature of the testes and maintains its at 35degrees celsius. This temperature is 2 degrees lesser than that of the normal body temperature because, at higher temperatures, the process of spermatogenesis is affected.  Temperature regulation is done by the smooth muscles of the scrotum.
