Find the area of a right triangle if the legs are congruent and the hypotenuse is 16

since the sides are equal and it is a right triangle then use pythagorean theorem with a and b as both the same- you get 2a^2=16^2 solve for a and you get square root 128. Area of a triangle is .5 base times height  and the base=height in this triangle so it is .5 times square root 128 squared which is 64 units squared
