How can you tell if an allele is dominant?

in order to tell if an allele is dominant, you would need to perform a cross test. The organism that is in question would be crossed with an homozygous for the recessive gene. After the cross test is performed, then they would look at the offspring to see if the allele is dominant or not. I hope this helps :)

well, you can use test cross to find if the individual have a dominant allele or not, if it is dominant and homologous it will produce new odfsorings with dominant allels, if it is dominant and hybdrid it will produce 4 individuals 2 of them are dominant hybrid and the other are resasive
