Which is more common: a star blows up as a supernova, or a star forms a planetary nebula/white dwarf system?

A planetary nebula is more common to occur than a supernova. It actually is a nebula, meaning mist or cloud but was called planetary nebulae by others because it looked like a planet.

Supernova is a not a usual event to take place.
