In my view minor parties have been important in politics in the United States were important in these ways:
1. These parties create competition for leading parties.
2. Minor parties usually propose innovative idea which could improve the country.
3. Minor parties shows that American government system is progressive enough to allow Afro-Americans, women, sexual minorities to participate in government.
