1.) you have to divide 6 on both sides to get the n by itself and it'll equal n=12.
2.) divide 1.2 on both sides and you'll get a=5
3.) divide 2.5 on both side and you'll get x=6

#1 divide by 6n to both sides to get n by itself

#2 multiply both sides by 6/5a to get a by itself

#3 multiply both sides by 2/5x to get x by itself


When you have whole numbers (no decimals) you can divide. When you have numbers with decimals, convert them to fractions and multiply by the reciprocal to get the variable by itself.
