H E L P: eric spends 17 dollars on 3 packages of hot dogs and 2 packages of hot dog rolls. john spends 30 dollars on 5 packages of hot dogs and 4 packages of hot dog rolls. The cost of each package of hot dogs is the same and the cost of each package of hot dog rolls is the same. What is the cost of each package of hot dog rolls?

i think the answer is C

let cost of hot dog be X
and that of hot dog roll be Y

so,

3X +2Y = 17 --eq 1

5X+4Y = 30 -- eq2

so, multiply eq1 by 5 and subtract it from eq2 multipled by 3

>> 15X + 12 Y - 15X -10Y = 90 - 85
>> 2 Y = 5
>> Y = 5/2 = 2.50 $
