genotype refers the gene that an individual has. phenotype refers to traits that an individual has, due to which genes are expressed and how. two individuals could have the same genotype , but different phenotype due to environmental factors influencing the expression of genes.

Genotype is the genetic make-up of an organism. It may contain dominant traits or recessive traits or both together.

Phenotype is the external features of the organism. It may show either dominant or recessive characteristics.

The one that is expressed is dominant, while the one that remains masked is recessive.

hope it helps you!
