The Soviet Union was a Marxist-Leninist republic that existed in Eurasia between 1922 and 1991. Although formally constituted as a federation of 15 republics, its political and economic system was de facto strongly centralist, with a single party political system dominated by the Communist Party until 1990.

After obtaining a part of the city of Berlin, the objective of the Soviet Union, was to avoid the entrance of the imperialist ideology of the moment, during all the period of time that the so-called Cold War lasted, this ideology rivaled the one prevailing in the USSR, communism.
