x = 3.5
y= -10.5

The answer is 3.5 and -10.5. Since -10.5 plus 3.5 is -7 and 3.5 - - 10.5 or 3.5 + 10.5 is 14.

one is negative and one is positive

x-y=14
add them
2x+0y=7
x=3.5
sub back
x+y=-7
3.5+y=-7
