3x + 2y = 7

y = x - 4

3x + 2(x - 4) = 7
3x + 2x - 8 = 7
5x = 7 + 8
5x = 15
x = 15/5
x = 3

y = x - 4
y = (3) - 4
y = -1

the solution to the set is (3, -1)

hope this helps :)
