1.) The South gained stronger fugitive slave law and the North gained California-free state.
2.) A major impact of the Kansas-Nebraska Act was that it brought the US closer to a civil war.
3.) Any person aiding a runaway slave by providing shelter, food or any other form of assistance was liable to six months' imprisonment and a $500 fine ­ an expensive penalty in those days.
