What emotions does odysseus express when he visits the land of the dead?

Based on his tales, it was described that Odysseus wept when he visited the land of the dead. It was because he was not given a proper burial when he fell from the roof and died and also another thing is that he saw his mother in there. Though its been a long time, it is all I can remember of Homer's tales.
