What's the difference between whose and whom?

The difference between who and whom is that whom should be used in a preposition or replacing him. her, (e.g. it was then when i realized whom was under the table). Who is used to replace he or she. Hope that this helps!

You use whose to figure out who the item belongs to. It is also like the pronouns his and our. For example, Whose backpack is this?

You use whom to ask who received an action. For example, Whom are you taking to prom?
