A helicopter fies east 15 miles then south 36 miles. How far is the helicopter from its original​ position? Use the Pythagorean theorem.

Pythagoras is A squared + B squared= C squared (C is always the slanted side!!)

So you do 15 squared + 36 squared (which is 225+1296)= C squared.
You add A squared and B squared together (which is 1521) then square route that number to get your distance from original position. Hope this helps :)
