Why are reflex actions adapted to happen without integration by the brain?

because reflex actions do not involve the brain. reflex actions are actually controlled by our spinal cord, the brain usually controls all voluntary actions that you want to do.  we know what we are doing. but sometimes, the is  a need to act so quickly that the nerves do not have time to contact the brain for instructions.
