Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by periods of binging. The statement that bulimia nervosa cannot be prevented, but it can be treated if diagnosed early is false. However, this eaing disorder can be prevented by heping young people and adolescents to udnerstand that each body is beautiful and that the ideal body image is not real. Tretaments include maudsley family-based treatment (for young people) or e xposure therapy (for adults).
